Sister Redd: I get goosebumps just thinking about it
Story
A detective and a nun investigate a series of heinous crimes that seem personal to them as they grapple with personal issues and uncover a sinister web that raises more questions than answers. Ed Laclan’s Mustang is the same color and license plate as the car in “The Italian Job” 2WQI332. Ryan Murphy was once good at telling vaudeville stories, but now he feels the pieces he wants told his way are art instead of fetish. The lead actress was an unstable detective who wasn’t sure how to keep her job.
The priest just didn’t fit his role
It seemed like she couldn’t find her way out of a paper bag. Who would honestly discuss a new case with a stranger claiming to be a nun without having any actual qualifications. I understand that some nuns are less conservative, but her behavior was insane. It seems like Murphy was trying to get a spitting image of Evan Peters & it’s a failure.
I have a feeling there’s more to the story, only time will tell
Redd was a strange character who seemed to have too personal a relationship with the husband under her care. The only grotesque thing was the daughter wearing something intentionally tight and eating enough food for two in the first episode. Who cares if she’s pretty or anything, let’s focus on her character’s weight because apparently that’s how fat people are perceived. I know this is a two episode review but it feels like another season of AHS with a different title.
Watch it and decide for yourself
The show is full of cliches and plot holes, maybe stereotypes but nothing really original. The cinematography was OK but nothing outstanding either. Revisions to reviews may be made as the series concludes. Edited Update – Just like in AHS: NYC, Ryan Murphy suddenly flips a switch in the last few episodes regarding plot coherence.
