The show moves the setting to the present day
Story
The Jackal is an elusive assassin who makes his living by pulling off high-priced hits. He soon meets his match in a tenacious British intelligence officer who tracks him down in a thrilling cat-and-mouse chase across Europe. The novel is set in 1963 and involved an assassination attempt on the then French President, Charles de Gaulle.
Remake of The Day of the Jackal (1973)
I noticed the strong commentary of “Where did we go wrong?”. Redmayne’s casting was the perfect choice for this remake of a classic. The big mistake was casting the female lead role to Lashana Lynch, the female MI6 agent.
She seems inexperienced for the role
As if she was trying too hard to impress and paying less attention to her character role, which should have been given to a more experienced actress. They should have cast a more confident and experienced actress like Christine Adams. I will admit that the rest of the cast was okay and the acting was decent.

The story and production were perfect for me and kept me glued to the action scenes with Redmayne. I was tempted to fast forward all of Lashana Lynch’s parts because they were getting very boring. is one of the biggest TV and streaming premieres this month.
