Referenced in Korman Productions’ Deep Dive TV podcast: Earth Abides at MGM + Deep Dive Episode 1 “Alone” with Dave and Stacie (2024). Normally, the first episode would be a decent episode, but not here, which is especially bad considering it’s about a global pandemic that’s seemingly ending civilization. He’s only been out of it for three weeks, going by what’s been said, but it feels like months or even a year, the way everyone talks and acts.
Well, that didn’t last long
It starts off by introducing him as a grounded guy who likes to live alone, off the grid. Going by the cover image, what are the chances that when he meets her she’ll be a strong, independent woman who doesn’t need a man but who he can follow around like a lost puppy. I really don’t see where the entertainment is going to come from if there’s barely anyone left and there’s no infected threat like 28 Days Later.
I’m not going to watch to find out!
This episode was just the survivors complaining about being alive. Maybe there are textbook slave traders (probably Christians made to look bad) looking to start a new world order and they have to escape from them? “One Hundred Years of Solitude” is one of the biggest TV and streaming premieres this month.
