Sawyer’s character was originally intended to be a dapper, suit-wearing, older urban hustler from Buffalo, New York. However, when Josh Holloway forgot a line in his audition and subsequently kicked a chair in frustration and swore loudly, the writers liked the edge it gave Sawyer’s character and decided to write Sawyer as a darker, southern drifter. and Sun are married and share the last name “Kwon,” which becomes a major plot point in the final season.

It’s impressive how well the series has aged. Watching it all again also made some stories make a lot more sense. I even think the ending makes a lot more sense now.

It’s an amazing series that paved the way for the beautiful landscape of high-quality television series we enjoy today.
