AniMat Crazy Cartoon Cast: Stupid Old Deadly Bear (2022)
Story
Four children make a mysterious discovery on their home planet that leads to them becoming lost in a strange and dangerous galaxy. Jude Law in Skeleton Crew; and more stars from a galaxy far, far away. The holographic circus entertaining the young Neel siblings is the same watch the Chewbacca family watch from the infamous Star Wars Holiday Special (1978). While Skeleton Crew is aimed at kids to appeal to a new generation of Star Wars fans, it surprisingly appeals to an older audience as well. In this episode of Star Wars, four children discover a buried spaceship in the forest of Atten, a peaceful and prosperous planet hidden in a galaxy filled with pirates, greed, and chaos.

Dreaming of adventure — at least some of it — the kids accidentally activate a ship and get lost on the other side of the galaxy. However, because the kids lived sheltered lives, they often get into trouble. While it’s definitely Star Wars, Skeleton Crew feels like ’80s kids’ adventure movie – think The Goonies, but set in space. For longtime fans, it’s full of nostalgic touches, from gear and spaceships to alien creatures, all reminiscent of the original trilogy. Diehard fans will also love the many Easter eggs scattered throughout, reminiscent of the franchise’s early days.
These little things keep you hooked and wanting more
I especially enjoyed seeing younger versions of the various alien species we know from the previous films. This makes the galaxy feel more connected, showing that some of the alien races are permanent rather than one-offs. There are also some fun cameos, like a brief glimpse of a boy who looks like young Kylo Ren. The biggest star of the cast, Jude Law, doesn’t show up until the end of the second episode, so it’s difficult to assess the overall quality of the acting right from the start. allows.
The young actors, albeit less experienced, do a good job
Two main actors stand out, reminiscent of the performances of classics like “The Goonies” or “Stand by Me.” One of the four children is a non-human alien, making it difficult to judge her behavior, while another wears a cybernetic visor that hides most of her facial expressions, reminiscent of Geordi La Forge from Star Trek. The production quality is top-notch, which clearly shows Disney’s budget. The special effects are impeccable, so there’s nothing to criticize. However, the episodes are quite short, and the long credits of more than five minutes seem excessive. I worry that the season is only eight episodes long, so the story may not gain momentum unless the pace picks up significantly.

Despite these concerns, Skeleton Crew was a pleasant surprise. It’s fun, nostalgic and engaging for viewers of all ages. I can’t wait to see where the story goes and I’m glad it has something to offer adult fans of the Star Wars universe too. One Hundred Years of Solitude is one of the biggest TV and broadcast premieres this month.
