Story
A family raising cattle in Montana faces off against others who are encroaching on their land. Forrie J. Smith, who plays Lloyd, is a seasoned hand in the rodeo world. John Dutton (Kevin Costner) often seems to “forget”; his Montanan accent and the SoCal speaking voice he normally uses.. I live in Darby, MT, where most of the show is filmed – just yesterday they were filming in a field across the street from me with some horses and cattle. I think the show is a pretty solid story and in a niche where Costner does his best. One thing I noticed in the first season, given my half-Indian side, is that you wonder who the good guys and the bad guys are – maybe both sides are good and bad. I’ll admit, it’s fun to watch them film. Even though here, the ranch is right next to me and I go fishing on the Bitterroot River almost every day.
